Duties & Functions:
Duties may include, but are not limited to the following, and additional duties may be assigned from time to time.
- Under the supervision of the assistant manager, monitors, patrols and inspects Bluewater Lagoon property, vehicles, and utilities to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and illegal activity.
- Security guards will protect the Tribe's investment and deter criminal activity or other problems.
- Use the radio and telephone communication to call for assistance from police, fire, or emergency medical services as the situation dictates.
- Write reports and logs outlining their observations and activities during their assigned shift.
- Monitor suspicious activities and report crimes to law enforcement officials.
- Assist law enforcement officials as directed or needed.
- Check on suspicious persons during shift as directed or needed.
- Must be willing to work all holidays and weekends.
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Assistant Director or designee to fulfill the Department's needs, objectives and/or goals.
- Follow established Tribal policies and those outlined in the Colorado River Indian Tribes Employee Handbook.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Must show good judgement and common sense; follow directions and directives from supervisors, ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Able to read and follow instructions
- Exercise good judgment, make decisions as appropriate, and take action under pressure.
- Must be computer literate, or willing to achieve, to access basic resident information.
- Must be able to legibly maintain up-to-date, and accurate, records of all activity and traffic in Bluewater Lagoon.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of Bluewater Lagoon and the Tribes' business.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess a current valid driver's license throughout employment and clean driving record.
Physical Requirement:
- Must be able to stand at least eight (8) hours.
- Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
- Must successfully complete a drug screening test prior to appointment.
- Physically able to perform duties assigned.
- Work in a variety of weather and environmental conditions with exposure to the elements, dust, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Occasionally work extended shifts as assigned.
- Must be willing to work ALL SHIFTS, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
