Under the direct supervision of the Museum Director, the incumbent assists the Curator in the daily administration of the museum.
Duties & Functions:
- Incumbent will answer the telephone and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel.
- Interface with other tribal government components, entities, and/or organizations orientating on the Colorado River Indian Tribal history.
- Welcome tourists and schedule tour appointments. Collect payment using the POS system, preparing the end of day cash reports.
- Collect data on tourists to include, but not limited to, the number of visitors and demographics.
- Clean and maintain exhibits regularly, using the appropriate methods.
- Ensure compliance and functions of the museum with existing policies and procedures.
- Incumbent may order supplies as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned (cross training) at the discretion of the Director/Curator or designee to fulfill the Department's needs, objectives and/or goals.
- Follow established Tribal policies and those outlined in the Colorado River Indian Tribes Employee Handbook.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Must be able to refrain from constant use of personal cell phone.
- Must possess ability to effectively communicate in written and spoken English.
- Incumbent will be working with the public so a pleasant disposition is required at all times.
- This position requires both a sense of organization and attention to detail that must be demonstrated in previous work experience.
- Knowledge of the CRIT history, cultures and traditions is/will be helpful.
- Applicant must be able to follow a regular work schedule and complete assignments within allotted time frame.
- Ability to work unsupervised and time management conscientious.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must possess a current valid driver's license throughout employment.
Physical Requirement:
- Must successfully complete a drug screening test prior to appointment.
- Physically able to perform duties assigned.
- Regular work attendance is required.
- Occasionally work extended shifts as assigned for special events, some weekends and holidays.
