What are the responsibilities and job description for the Neuropsychology technician position at Colorado Springs Neurological Associates?
General Summary of Duties: Administers and scores a battery of neuropsychology tests to patients under direct supervision of Clinical Neuropsychologist. Works collaboratively with other team members to manage administrative tasks, such as returning phone calls, faxing reports, and maintaining patient databases. Position requires high attention to detail, efficiency, ability to be flexible should the need arise, and good communication skills.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Administers an extensive battery of tests that sample cognitive abilities, emotional function and personality areas. This includes face to face testing, and/or administering computerized testing.
- Accurately scores and records test results and response times; tabulates results based on normative data for individual tests and utilizes computerized scoring system as necessary. Checks for errors in administration, recording or scoring and makes appropriate corrections. Returns the completed and cross-checked test files to the neuropsychologist, with final summary sheet, in a timely manner.
- Answers phone calls from patients/families or referring physicians with information on testing process, eligibility for our neuropsychology service.
- Escorts patients from the waiting area to the Neuropsychology testing room.
- Writes a summary of observations of each patient’s behavior and test performance. Records patient responses using clinical judgment to determine an appropriate pace of testing for each subject. Assesses test data validity and patient effort.
- Responsible for the clinical coordination of neuropsychology clinic including assistance in coordinating scheduling and follow up appointments.
- Orders, sorts, and stores testing materials, protocols, software as needed
- Attends meetings as required.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Performs related work as required, such as but not limited to, fax/mail, voice mail, paperwork completion etc.
- Maintains HIPAA and OSHA compliance
Education: Bachelors of Arts/Sciences degree in Psychology, or other related social science required.
Experience: Experience conducting in neuropsychological/psychological testing preferred
Certificate/License: Required: Current CPR/BLS Certificate
