Buena Vista Elementary School, a Public Montessori School, is hiring a Lead Guide for a Lower Elementary (Ages 6-9; Grades 1, 2 and 3) classroom to begin the 2024-2025 school year. Each Primary classroom has a maximum of 25 children, 1 Lead Guide and 1 Educational Assistant. Buena Vista is a Public Elementary School within Colorado Springs School District 11 serving students age 3 through 5th grade.
Colorado Springs School District 11 is one of the largest school districts in Colorado Springs, CO. We recently updated our salary schedule so the starting salary for a full-time teacher is now $50,000! Our benefits package was also recently updated to Kaiser Permanente and offers Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance.
Buena Vista Elementary is a Public Montessori School. We are not a charter. We are not a magnet program. We are not a program/school within a school. Buena Vista is described by our PTA as "the best kept secret in town".

Elementary School Teacher
Colorado Springs School District 11 is hiring a full-time Elementary School Teacher in our Colorado Springs, CO location.
This position is responsible for providing instruction to students in Preschool (ages 3 and 4) and Kindergarten. The guide assist in the development of the children and their learning environment; working with the Principal to plan and execute curriculum and implement policies and procedures for the school. The Primary Teacher (Guide) will also provide support to the Principal as needed, including helping with classroom management, student progress, and administrative support. This is a salaried position, with a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education or related field (required)
Montessori Training in progress (preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable experience as an elementary teacher
- Must be able to work independently and be a team player
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to work in a dynamic environment that includes meetings after school 1 day per week and optional participation in student clubs / activities
Responsibilities:
·Provide instruction to children in a classroom setting and provide guidance to children on how to work with peers.
·Assist the Principal in planning and executing curriculum for students.
·Assist in the implementation of policies and procedures for the classroom.
·Assist with classroom management including assisting Principal in scheduling, teaching plans, assignments, etc.
·Assist with student progress including monitoring student performance data daily. Communicate effectively with families regarding student performance and progress. Collaborate effectively with other teachers on student-level growth and achievement. Help families communicate effectively with their children when necessary. Work effectively with other teachers on team decisions such as creating new works, utilizing data to drive instruction or making lesson plans.
