Position Title: Medical Records
Location: Union and Woodman (must be able to float between both)
FLSA: Non-exempt
Starting Range: $15.00- $17.00 based on experience
General Job Description
The Medical Records Tech is someone who understands the importance of privacy and adheres to HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). This team player has full knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, has no problem managing their position to ensure records are scanned and are signed by medical professional.
- Processing electronic fax and scanning documents.
- Handle incoming mail requests from billing, if needed.
- Distributing to necessary departments for completion, uploading records to charts and sending for signatures, when applicable.
- Processing medical record requests – incoming and outgoing.
- Scan all paper records that are received.
- Process all tasks from physicians needing additional documentation, if applicable
- Participates in educational activities.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
- Enhances communications by consistently displaying excellent customer service skills in behavior and attitude.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge:
- Knowledge of HIPPA regulations regarding the release of records
- Previous medical/office experience a plus, but not required. Skills:
- Display exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Appropriate time management skills. Abilities:
- Be an exceptional multi-tasker and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
Salary : $15 - $17
