Join the Colorado Springs Utilities team! We are seeking a driven Data Architect to strengthen the impact of our business information. Analyze the company's data needs and use coding skills to maintain secure databases and then collect and organize the data obtained. As a critical team member, you will lead our efforts to improve the availability and usability of the data that drives our organization's success.

A Hybrid Telework Schedule will be considered for this position; hybrid is defined as a pre-determined blend of working from home and in the office. (This does require the qualified candidate to reside within commuting distance of the Colorado Springs office.)
Key Focus Areas:
- Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable business-focused data architecture solutions
- Develop, and maintain data models, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and accessibility across the organization
- Recommend data integration processes to consolidate data from various sources into a cohesive data warehouse
- Partner with Data Manager to establish and enforce data governance policies and practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance
- Partner with the Data Manager to establish an AI strategy for the organization
- Monitor and optimize data architecture performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and inefficiencies
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance data architecture capabilities and performance
- Provide training and support to data users and stakeholders to ensure effective use of data architecture and systems
- Develop and maintain scalable, efficient, and reliable data architecture solutions that meet business requirements
Who you are...The successful candidate will come with years of demonstrated related experience, in-depth skills in designing and implementing information solutions, and hands-on experience implementing data and analytics management programs. Additionally, a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
- Experience in enterprise architecture frameworks like TOGAF
- Experience with meta-modeling language ArchiMate
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience as a Data Architect, Data Engineer, or similar role
- Extensive knowledge of database management systems (DBMS), data modeling tools, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing solutions
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL, Python, and other relevant languages
- Utility experience is a plus
