Operations Manager - Electric and Gas
We are seeking to hire a multi-faceted, strategic leader to serve as our Operations Manager assigned to the Electric and Gas area. This leadership role is critical as transition our generation, delivery, and storage of energy resources and will require a leader who is skilled at carrying a vision forward while managing very diverse skill sets and functional areas, including control room operators and field operations teams.
As our Operations Manager assigned to the Electric and Gas area, you will be responsible for Electric Transmission and Distribution Control Room Operations, Gas Control Room Operations, Water Control Room Operations, Substation Operations, Relay Protection and Instrumentation, Electric Troubleshooting, Cable Tech, Gas Leak Search, Gas Instrumentation Control and Gas Distribution Operations; his currently consists of 7 direct reports and roughly 105 indirect reports.
This group operates 24 / 7, 365 days a year. As the Manager, you are expected to be available to provide support for significant emergencies affecting our infrastructure and customers.

- Drive a culture of safety to reduce the number and severity of injuries and motor vehicle accidents
- Development of area leaders to both create a high-performing area as well as prepare leaders for the future
- Responsible for the performance management and professional growth of the workforce through employee mentorship, coaching, and driving continuous improvement of our training programs in collaboration with safety and health, our corporate university, and subject matter experts across the organization
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate and manage the operations and activities of an electric and gas utility
- Plan for and integrate various gas and electric regulatory requirements into operational plans
- Respond to electric and gas emergencies in an Incident Commander or Command Staff role
- Collaborate with internal and external peers and partners to develop and execute tactical and strategic plans to operate and maintain the gas and electric infrastructure
- Formulate long and short-range plans for electric and gas system expansion, development, and strategic partnerships
- Provide recommendations related to system expansion and partnerships to meet loads and demand forecasting, and reliability of service through the application of technological advances, administration of preventative maintenance programs, and grid and infrastructure modernization programs
- Carry forward our Sustainable Energy Plan to reduce carbon emissions by at least 80% by 2030 and 90% by 2050
- Participate in conversations and projects tied to the decommissioning of our coal power plants and further integration of renewable energy resources and storage into our energy portfolio
- Develop and implement process improvements to align workgroups and ensure that our distributed energy resources deliver on our commitments
