Senior Data Integration Engineer

Come join our talented Integration & Data Engineering team within the Information Technology Services Department as a Senior Data Integration Engineer. You will be responsible for the complete life cycle of information systems: from requirements and analysis to design and development using multiple integration approaches, including API management, application integration, and messaging to leverage enterprise services and assets to expose them as APIs or connect them as services. Furthermore, you will work with and be mentored by a team of talented senior integration engineers toward continuous improvement and development of systems and applications on the Microsoft stack.

What you will be doing:
- Ensure that Colorado Springs Utilities’ goals and strategies are supported by the design and implementation of software integrations
- Provide technical expertise to examine, troubleshoot, and repair application problems
- Assist in initiatives to design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes
- Analyze problems/issues of diverse scope and determine solutions
- Maintain a detail-oriented approach to creating supportable solutions with minimal rework
- Develop a deep technical understanding and/or development of web services, APIs, flat files, and other integration options
- Evolve your ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions as well as communicate & document the solutions as needed
- Expand your consistency in following desired integration patterns and suggest new approaches to improve patterns
Who You Are:
- A degree in a technology-related discipline and/or relevant and progressively responsible experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade technical solutions that meet complex business requirements
- Experience in webMethods including but not limited to developing Flow Services, Data Transformation (XML/EDI/FlatFile), Integration Infrastructure, and Web Services (REST/JSON, SOAP/WSDL)
- Experience working in object-oriented development using either Java or C# (or other relevant object-oriented languages)
- Experience preferred in delivering solutions in both waterfall and agile team-based environments using on-prem and cloud-based platforms
- Experience working with SQL and knowledge of PowerShell is beneficial
- Excellent communicator with clear and concise written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal, skills and the ability to function with a high degree of autonomy
- A strong cognitive ability to understand, document, and describe sophisticated technical subjects to any audience
- A demonstrated ability to learn quickly and excel at providing exceptional levels of service to others
