Work Unit | Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories
Faculty and staff at the CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories (VDL) are among the nation’s finest in their fields of expertise and offer comprehensive diagnostic services. The mission of the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) is to provide timely, accurate and pertinent animal disease diagnostic services and educational outreach to veterinarians, animal industries and animal interests. The Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory will strive to meet the goals the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and the University through research to develop new approaches to disease identification, investigation, prevention and through education of professional veterinary medical, graduate, and post-doctoral students.

Position Summary
This position will work with our business office team and will have a wide variety of duties. Incumbent must greet the public on the phone and in person, answer questions about what specimens to submit, which tests we run and read or fax/e mail results to customer. Incumbent will direct clients to appropriate area of the laboratory (on the phone and in person), enter case information into the billing/records system, bill/invoice clients for services provided, and provide various support duties for other members of the VDL staff and faculty.

Position Minimum Qualifications
Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time but may involve walking and standing; must have ability to use fingers and hands for high volume/speed keyboarding; talking, hearing, comparing and copying/posting data, and analyzing/coordinating data is required. Strong communication/interpersonal skills and desire to work with the public are required.

Preferred Qualifications
Medical terminology.
