The Department of Mathematics at Colorado State University is one of eight departments in the College of Natural Sciences. The Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as excellence in research. Faculty research interests include algebra, analysis, combinatorics, differential equations, geometry, inverse problems, math education, mathematical modeling, number theory, scientific computing, and topology, as well as applications of these areas. The Department of Mathematics has around 150 undergraduate majors and 73 graduate students, with currently 29 tenured and tenure-track faculty.
Colorado State University and the Department of Mathematics provide a highly collaborative and supportive environment; a number of faculty have joint appointments in other departments or are engaged in interdisciplinary collaborations and research projects. The successful applicants will have a strong research program, as well as a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate mathematics courses as assigned by the Department Chair, as well as the continued development of an excellent and well-recognized research program.
