Description of Work Unit

Veterinary Teaching Hospital At the CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) we exist to educate the next generation of veterinarians by providing exceptional veterinary care and service to the community every day. This work unit exists to provide administration and direction of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and provide a support facility for service to the general public and referring veterinarians.     Position Summary

    The successful candidate should have a strong interest in the diagnosis and medical and surgical treatment of complex dentistry and oral surgery conditions in primarily dogs, cats, and exotics. The successful candidate is expected to provide superior patient care by utilizing CSU's cutting-edge surgical instrumentation and diagnostic technologies while collaborating with numerous other specialty services. Clinical duties will consist of supervision of patient and client care for patients presented to the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service. Duties of the successful candidate will include teaching veterinary students, interns, and residents. Participation in weekly didactic resident training, including journal clubs and daily student case rounds, will be encouraged. The faculty of the Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service provide support for after-hours emergencies, and the successful candidate will be expected to provide after-hours support for house officers. This position reports to Dr. Hoyer, Service Head and Associate Professor, Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery.

    A signing bonus and / or relocation expenses may be considered for the successful candidate.

    This position is a .3 FTE.

    Required Job Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent degree
  • American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) board certification by start date
  • Eligibility to obtain a State of Colorado Veterinary License (either Academic or full license)
