Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation's leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities.
The Department of Philosophy has a strong commitment to undergraduate education and aims to prepare students for a wide variety of professional and life goals, including graduate school in philosophy, but also a variety of other fields, including, but not limited to, professional training in law, social work, the health-care professions, or theology, business, and general intellectual flexibility in a changing world. Undergraduates can major in any of General Philosophy; Global Philosophies and Religions; or Philosophy, Science and Technology concentrations within the Philosophy major. Students can also earn a minor in General Philosophy. A certificate may also be earned in Philosophy in either Ethics and Society or World Philosophies and Religions.

- M.A. in Philosophy or Religious Studies.
- Experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching in higher education.
- Ph.D. in Philosophy, Logic, Ethics, Religious Studies, or related field.
