Job Summary
This position is for a Land Rehabilitation and Maintenance (LRAM) Light Equipment Operator at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The successful candidate will conduct soil stabilization and vegetation management activities using light equipment and hand tools in support of the LRAM component of the Army's Integrated Training Area Management (ITAM) Program.
Responsibilities
- Operate small agricultural tractors, mowers, skid-steers, and other light equipment to conduct soil stabilization and vegetation management activities.
- Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Work with a team to achieve project goals and maintain safe working standards.
- Follow directions and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Requirements
- A High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience operating light equipment and performing manual labor.
- Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically able to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
- Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one by employment start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in land rehabilitation, horizontal construction techniques, and erosion control practices.
- Experience working on a military installation to assist in assessing training land conditions.
- Experience with Front-End Loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, and water trucks.
