Position Summary
CSU’s Small Animal Orthopedic Medicine and Mobility (OMM) service is looking for a veterinary assistant or Certified/Registered veterinary technician to assist with the OMM service’s current case load for receiving on the clinic floor. Our service uses state-of-the-art orthopedic techniques and technology, to diagnose and non-surgically treat injury and disease of the musculoskeletal system with the goal to enhance the quality of life for pets and their owners by easing pain, restoring function, and improving quality of life.

Position Minimum Qualifications
Previous work experience in a veterinary setting.

Preferred Qualifications
Animal handling skills for dogs and cats

For a Veterinary Technician role:
  • Registered as a Veterinary Technician (VT) or Provisional Veterinary Technician (PVT) through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
  • Graduate of accredited veterinary technician program with greater than two (2) years’ experience in veterinary medicine. *Please note, a transcript or diploma must be attached to this application to demonstrate graduation from the vet tech program.
    • SUBSTITUTIONS: Two years of experience as defined by the department will substitute for each year of required education. A bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in veterinary/animal health technology will substitute for the associate degree and, at the agency’s discretion, the three years of experience.


  • NOTE: VETERINARY PRACTICE ACT – Effective January 1, 2024, anyone wanting to use the titles Registered Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Technician, RVT, or VT will have to be certified through the Colorado Association of Certified Veterinary Technicians (CACVT) AND registered through the Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
