Description of Work Unit
The Colorado State University Libraries is the heart of learning and research on campus, connecting curious minds to vital information and knowledge. The library system includes a primary library, Morgan Library, and a branch library in CSUs Veterinary Teaching Hospital. The Libraries mission is to curate inclusive collections and provide equitable access to materials and services critical to student success, research brilliance and community engagement. The Libraries employs approximately 80 faculty and staff and 100 student employees who collaborate to meet the informational needs of users in the Libraries physical and digital spaces.

The Library Technology Services team plays an important part in achieving the strategic goals and priorities of CSU Libraries (https : / / lib.colostate.edu / about / strategic-plan / ) by administering, developing, and supporting library applications and technologies. Working collaboratively with colleagues across the library, the university and the profession, we strive to create user centered systems that enhance discovery and preservation of knowledge resources and services.
Position Summary
The User Experience (UX) Professional will be instrumental in ensuring a seamless and empowering online user experience for staff and users by eliminating barriers to managing, discovering, and using library resources and services. The person in this position will be responsible for creating a deep understanding of Libraries online user behavior with UX assessment methods and analysis. They will actively work with the Library Technology Services team and library staff to apply their findings and implement solutions across a wide variety of online applications and discovery methods. CSU Libraries supports flexible work options for this role including in-person, hybrid or fully remote with expected on-site visits up to 3 times a year.
