What are the responsibilities and job description for the ER Veterinary Assistant-Swing and Overnight Shifts position at Colorado Veterinary Specialty Group?
CVSG is a privately owned specialty and emergency hospital that has provided care to pets in Denver and the surrounding communities for over 14 years. We are doubling the size of the hospital in 2025! Our specialty departments include Surgery, Sports Medicine/Rehabilitation, Reproductive Medicine, and Radiology with Oncology and Dentistry to be added next year. We are looking for a talented ER Assistant to join us and collaborate with our close-knit and dedicated crew.
Who we are looking for: ER Veterinary Assistant-Swing and Overnight Shifts ($1.50/hr. shift differential for swing shifts, $3.00/hr shift differential for overnight shifts)

What you’ll do:
- Meet with clients to discuss their pet's symptoms and health history
- Assist technicians and physicians with patient assessment, treatment and restraint for procedures
- Animal handling and patient care
- Partner with patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
- Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
- Help with preparation of lab samples
- Keep the hospital clean and the treatment and exam rooms well-stocked
Who you are:
- Prior veterinary experience required
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
