Description
Position : Maintenance Engineer
Reports to : Sr. Director of Program Operations
Location : Denver
Type : Full-time
Pay : $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
The Maintenance Engineer will work in collaboration with the Senior Director of Program Operations, other Maintenance Engineers, and the CVC team to ensure that the communities operate efficiently. Specifically, the Maintenance Engineer maintains structural components including fences, gates, equipment, and set-ups such as HVAC units, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring and makes necessary repairs. Maintenance Engineers also develop and implement preventative maintenance measures to ensure the longevity of facility equipment and reduce safety risks.
Expected schedule, specific tasks related to primary focus areas, as well as other responsibilities for this position are listed below :
Schedule / Hours
- 35 hrs / wk on site
- Up to 5 hrs / wk to be spent on-call
- Able to work flexible hours which may include a combination of early mornings, late evenings and some weekends.
- Time may be spent in organizational meetings, meetings with external partners and coalitions, etc.
Key Area #1 - Maintenance of Site Infrastructure
Conduct routine maintenance on equipment such as, door hardware, evaporative coolers, electrical heating lamps, plumbing fixtures, and electrical wiring to make sure they're operating efficiently and make any needed repairsInspect the fence and gates and perform necessary repairsKeep a record of completed repairs and when the equipment was last servicedDevelop and execute preventative maintenance measures to keep our equipment operating efficiently and prevent any safety risksHandle additional maintenance tasks as neededKey Area #2 - Assist with Site Development
Attend site development meetings to become versed on the ins and outs of site set-up and take-down.Assist project manager, site designer and electrical, plumbing contractors with site set-up and take-downKey Area #3 - Groundskeeping
General maintenance of site grounds, including site beautificationPruning, weeding, and cultivation of planters and flower bedsAssist with snow clearance and grit applicationCleaning and maintenance of the hard and porous surfaces.Key Area #4 - Maintenance / Operations Emergencies

Qualifications Summary
High school diploma / GED or equivalentValid driver's license, insurance, and reliable vehicle (preferably a pickup truck)Ability to lift 80lb, able to climb ladders, and work on kneesAt least 2 years of maintenance experienceKnowledge of heating and air conditioning units, plumbing systems, and electrical systemsAdvanced understanding of maintenance equipment, procedures, and techniquesKnowledge of construction safety protocolsAvailable to be on call and respond to maintenance requests on nights and weekendsExcellent work ethic, communication skills, time management skills, and attention to detailCommitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion company valuesSalary Description
