Full Job Description
Our Medical Assistants are tasked to provide information, services, and assistance to our patients. This position will work with our ENT provider. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patient charts prior to office visits to include any and all relevant notes from referring physicians, labs and imaging results, and/or other needed information as needed.
- Verify patient medical information by interviewing the patient, recording their medical history, and confirming the purpose of their visit.
- Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, and weight, and reporting patient history summary.
- Assist physicians in various office procedures as needed.
- Ensure patient paperwork and orders are complete, entered, and routed appropriately.
- Conduct patient post-op calls.
- Verify and update patient medical information through various sources.
- Effectively communicate with all team members, physicians, and vendors to ensure peak patient efficiency.
- Assist the front office staff as needed.
Key Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
- Knowledge of basic nursing practices and medical assisting skills and the various types of materials and equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant medical terminology.
- Must demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with all patients and staff.
- Ability to instruct and assist patients effectively.
- Ability to perform routine clerical support work and routine housekeeping/stocking duties in exam rooms.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions of medical care providers.
- Ability to learn and become proficient the practice’s EMR system.
- Strong ethics and a high level of personal and professional integrity.
- Proficient in using basic office equipment and possess general computer skills with experience in MS Office programs.
- Medical Assistant course completion and certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday - Friday schedule
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
