The Technician (PLC) reports to the Technical Services Manager – Belen and is responsible for troubleshooting, upgrade existing equipment along with design and implementation. Hands on installation of production equipment and hardware design.

The Technician (PLC) reports to the Technical Services Manager – Belen and is responsible for troubleshooting, upgrade existing equipment along with design and implementation. Hands on installation of production equipment and hardware design.
Required Qualifications:
- Troubleshoot and upgrade existing equipment to new equipment design & Implementation.
- Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment.
- Implement machine control knowledge and understand classical control theory.
- Responsible to operate Fluke Meters, and other electronic test equipment.
- Elaborate electrical schematic drawings using AutoCad and Autocad electrical
- SCADA developing knowledge: Ignition, Python and Labview
- High school diploma or equivalent required with bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience with direct PLC programming required
- PLC Programming experience required.
- HMI development with RSview32, FT view & C-more panels.
- Hardware design experience with PCL/VFD wiring diagrams.
- Experience with Rockwell ControlLogix & Micrologix.
- Experience with Koyo PLC programming.
- Industrial network protocols knowledge with Ethernet I/P, DeviseNET, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP.
- Motion control Knowledge with servo, stepper, DC, AC drives.
- Serial communication knowledge with RS232 / 485.
- This position is located onsite at Colorcon’s Belen, NM manufacturing facility.
- Travel: up to 10% domestic/global travel may be required, annually.
- Schedule is Monday through Friday, with overtime/on-call availability required for off-shift & possible weekends.
