Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Technician is responsible for shipping of finished goods and receiving of raw materials. Inventory accuracy and maintaining Warehouse Quality.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Loading – outbound shipments and transfers
- Receiving – unloading inbound purchase orders and transfers
- Forklift – Inspects forklift truck at the beginning of each shift
- Forklift – Operates the unit in a safe, efficient manner and makes certain unit is always being charged when not in use
- Makes sure trucks are safely positioned, bulldog is engaged, checked before loading
Supervisory Responsibilities:
No direct supervisory responsibility but provides functional or technical guidance to other staff within a work group or unit. May be required to provide some advice on policies and procedures to staff.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Possesses the technical skills and knowledge required to perform essential tasks in an efficient and effective manner.
- Demonstrates the willingness and ability to train or coach others in the technical arena.
- Applies general clerical/trade knowledge and skills.
- Understands basic methods, records, specifications and/or equipment within own work unit.
Education and Experience
- Formal training and knowledge required, equivalent to High School Education.
- Requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
