Job Purpose

 

As a Technician 1, you will provide exceptional technical support to our Operations team, Licensing Team, and licensees. Your primary responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various technical equipment to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service. This role involves significant on-site installations and intense travel, especially between March and June, to support the annual setup of seasonal licensees and new installs in collaboration with our engineering department. A sense of urgency and attentiveness to customer needs is essential to excel in this role.

 

Tasks

 

Technical Support and Operations

  • PC and Peripheral Support
    • Assemble, repair, and test PCs.
    • Install and configure operating systems and application software (Windows only).
    • Install and test CRT and LCD monitors.
    • Install, configure, and repair various printers.
  • Point of Sale and Camera Systems
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot point of sale systems.
    • Install, configure, and test analog and digital cameras.
  • Network and Wiring
    • Perform network cabling, configuring, and troubleshooting.
    • Conduct occasional wiring and soldering (e.g., making special cables, specialized hardware).
  • Customer Support
    • Provide phone support, including after hours and weekends on a rotating schedule.
    • Conduct on-site service to resolve technical issues efficiently.
    • Perform on-site installations for various technical equipment and systems.
    • Answer tech support line, solve quick problems, and dispatch calls to technicians.
    • Log calls, run performance reports, and follow up to ensure all service requests are resolved satisfactorily.
    • Maintain a sense of urgency to complete tasks promptly and effectively.
    • Be attentive to the needs of customers, ensuring their issues are resolved quickly and to their satisfaction.
    • Answer calls and troubleshooting after hours on an on-call rotating schedule.
  • Travel
    • Extensive travel required, particularly from March to June.
    • Travel to support the annual setup of seasonal licensees and new installs.
    • Collaborate with the engineering department on new installations and system setups.
    • Ensure all technical equipment and systems are installed and configured correctly at various locations.

Environmental Demands

  • Work in various environments, including warehouses, office spaces, hotels, and outdoor locations like theme parks.
  • Indoor locations are temperature-controlled and frequently noisy.
  • Outdoor locations are subject to extremes of heat, cold, humidity, and noise.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, and perform detailed work for long periods.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, and lift items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding with stability, and crawl into small, elevated spaces.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license and follow traffic laws. (Required)
