Description :
We are looking for a Machine Operator for a full-time position at our Colorworks Plant in Elizabethton, TN. A Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery within a production or manufacturing environment . Their duties involve ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of equipment to meet production goals while adhering to safety protocols.
Our standard shifts are :
Rotating 12 hr shift : Mon-Thurs followed by Mon-Wed. Dayshift is 6 : 50 am - 6 : 50 pm. Night shift is 6 : 50 pm - 6 : 50 am.
Schedules are subject to change based on production need.
Key Responsibilities :
Machine Setup and Operation : Set up, adjust, and operate various machines, including those that are mechanical, automated, or computer-controlled, to perform a specific function.
Quality Control and Inspection : Perform routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning, identify potential issues, and maintain quality standards. Conduct quality checks on the products produced by the machines.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting : Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating, to keep the machines running smoothly. They also identify and troubleshoot minor malfunctions and report more complex issues to skilled technicians.
Safety and Compliance : Adhere to strict safety regulations, wear appropriate protective gear, and follow established procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
Material Handling : Loading and unloading materials, as well as transporting materials within the production area.
Precision Measurement : Where applicable, the precise measuring and weighing of material, textile or chemical, may be required. The ability to learn and follow specific orders and or processes is paramount.
Requirements : Essential Skills :
Verbal and Written Communication Skills : The ability to read and comprehend very specific order details and specs are required. Legible and carefully written documentation and notes are required.
Measuring aptitude : Ability to precisely measure, read, and calculate Feet / In, pounds, and or Units of Volume using appropriate measuring tool(s).
Mechanical aptitude : Understanding of machine operation and basic mechanical principles.
Attention to detail : Careful observation and adherence to instructions are crucial for quality control and safe operation.
Problem-solving skills : Ability to identify and resolve minor equipment malfunctions.
Physical stamina : Machine operators often perform physically demanding tasks and may be required to stand for extended periods.
Tolerance for extreme temperatures and occasional chemical smells.
Teamwork and communication : Working collaboratively with fellow operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
Flexibility and Versatility : Ability to seamlessly pivot if production priorities change.
