Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wide Format Print Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various printing techniques, particularly Wide Format printing, and will be responsible for ensuring high-quality output throughout the printing process. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and creative insight, making it essential for candidates to be familiar with design software and quality control measures.
Duties
- Operate and maintain printing equipment to produce high-quality prints on various substrates.
- Efficiently and accurately operate the U.V. Vutek digital printing press, film laminator and U.V. coating equipment.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the printing process to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with design teams using Adobe Creative Suite to prepare artwork for print production.
- Attention to detail for matching color proofs.
- Build/review files for large formatting.
- Manage prepress tasks including file preparation, color correction, and proofing before production runs.
- Fabricate custom solutions as needed for unique printing projects.
- Utilize CNC machinery for precise cutting and shaping of materials when required.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while operating machinery, including forklifts for material handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to best practices in equipment care and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in wide format printing or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and techniques in a production environment.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
- 3-5 years working with printing software – Photoshop, Corel Draw, Onyx Thrive, Fiery, etc
- Experience with prepress processes and typography is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of machining techniques is a plus, as is experience operating CNC equipment.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is preferred but not required at hiring (training can be provided).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential for success in this role.
