Responsibilities
This person will be a member of a team of 5 consisting of DevOps and software engineers in a mostly Linux environment. The team currently supports production and corporate IT needs.
The role will own the following day-to-day IT security risk management duties.
- Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection / prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption technologies.
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify security weaknesses and prioritize remediation efforts.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access attempts, and data breaches.
- Investigate security incidents and conduct forensic analysis to determine the root cause and extent of the breach.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and measures in new systems and applications.
- Provide security awareness training and education to employees to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.
- Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends to proactively enhance our security posture.
- Participate in incident response drills and tabletop exercises to test and improve our incident response capabilities.
