PRIMARY FUNCTION : The job of the Marketing and Communications Coordiator is to maintain the district websites
and associated social media systems, prepare creatives for print, and digital media, and provide information and
support services to schools, district departments and programs, and community partners related to marketing and
media relations; assist with district-wide event planning, and other duties related to promoting the positive image
and brand of the district.
REQUIREMENTS :
1. Educational Level : Minimum : Associate degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field. Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
2. Certification / License Required : No
3. Experience : 3 to 5 years of graphic design, social media management, marketing, public relations, or a related field are preferred (it can be a combination of work and education experience).
4. Physical Activities : Routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKLILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Knowledge of marketing and public relations activities to promote an organization's brand identity through a variety of mediums while adhering to policies and procedures related to the organization.
2. Skilled in graphic design, writing for publications, creating and tracking marketing campaigns, and analyzing data related to campaign effectiveness.
3. Able to communicate clearly, professionally, and timely. Organized and well-versed in computer programs used to fulfill job requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
1. Create and edit various forms of written communication.
2. Compile information from a wide variety of sources for monitoring activities while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
3. Coordinate media and marketing activities with a wide variety of stakeholders (employees, community leaders, students, families, the general public, etc.) to ensure effective communication on behalf of the District.
4. Develop creative content (creating graphics, taking and editing photos and video) to market the District, schools, and programs.
5. Assist with the development, planning, and implementation of various district events to ensure positive marketing and media coverage.
6. Direct and support the School Communications group through training, website, and social media support.
7. Assist with coordinating media coverage for the District and schools, including but not limited to writing press releases, coordinating attendance at events, and answering requests for information from media representatives.
8. Design, prepare, and edit district publications (newsletters, annual magazines, recruitment materials, etc.) in various formats.
9. Respond to inquiries from a variety of stakeholders to facilitate positive ongoing communication between the district and various groups.
10. Assist with emergency response plans and communication of such plans with all stakeholders under the direction of the Chief Officer and Superintendent.
11. Participate in meetings, keep informed of developing communication trends, and techniques, and attend professional development related to job duties.
