Coltrane Hyde is looking for a UX / UI Designer to design software, platforms, and applications that meet people’s needs. You will combine interfaces and workflows to enhance user experience. In this role, the ideal candidate would be an analytical and a creative designer who is able to grasp user needs and solve problems. A strong portfolio of successful UX / UI and other technical projects is essential.

UX Design

  • Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and usability testing to identify user pain points.
  • Develop wireframes, storyboards, and user flows to ensure seamless user interactions.
  • Develop interactive prototypes to test concepts and usability.

UI Design

  • Create visually appealing and consistent UI components using design systems.
  • Apply typography, color theory, and layout principles to craft cutting edge interfaces.
  • Ensure responsive and accessible design across multiple device types and platforms.

    • Collaboration & Communication

  • Works closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and stakeholders.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to team members and leadership.
  • Iterate designs based on leadership and customer feedback.

    • Responsibilities

  • Understand product and project requirements.
  • Analyze data and feedback to refine user personas and user experience.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
  • Create personas through user research and data.
  • Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success.
  • Develop wireframes and prototypes around project requirements and customer needs.
  • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability).
  • Experience designing for mobile-first and responsive web applications.
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to team members and stakeholders.
  • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.

    • Education & Experience

  • Proven experience in UX / UI Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or similar role.
  • 4 years of experience in UX / UI design (or relevant portfolio showcasing your work).
  • Strong portfolio of design projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects.
  • Experience working with Agile development teams.
  • Background in product design and research.
  • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture.
  • Proficient in design software (e.g. Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or Photoshop).
  • Proficient in AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of HTML / CSS; JavaScript is a plus.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical mind with a business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • BSc in Design, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
