- Assists the Operational Risk Manager in the identification and assessment of operational risks within the organization.
- Collaborates with lines of business to identify, record, and track inherent and residual risks.
- Supports management in the development and implementation of risk management strategies, policies, and procedures. Assists in the identification and evaluation of control environments.
- Assists with monitoring and reporting on risk exposure and mitigation efforts.
- Assists in the identification and capturing of risk events. Performs root cause analysis and proposes recommendations to control enhancements.
- Analyzes data to identify trends and potential risk areas. Prepares and reports metrics and dashboarding for presentment.
- Prepares reports for management and stakeholders. Prepares agendas and drafts meeting minutes.
- Conducts risk assessments and assists on evaluating effectiveness across all lines of business.
- Supports management to ensure continuous alignment to organizational Risk Appetite Statement.
- Alongside ERM management, partners with Audit, Compliance, and Regulators on examination management and best practice assurances.
- Stays updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
- Assists to facilitate risk management workshops and meetings.
- Partners with Training and Senior Management on training initiatives.
- Other Enterprise Risk Management duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Business, Finance or other relevant fields.
- 3 years of relevant work experience in Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, or other related areas.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Risk Management. Professional (CRMP), or Financial Risk Manager (FRM) are beneficial.
- Knowledge managing and implementing risk management tools such as GRC platforms.
- Understanding of regulations and compliance requirements relative to the industry.
- Knowledge of operational processes, risk assessment methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Knowledge of bank operations.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Microsoft Office skills: proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently.
