JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Specialist performs a variety of tasks supporting the day-to-day functions of the human resource department, setting interviews, offer letters, screening and onboarding tasks, new hire orientation, new record data entry, validating benefit enrollments, submitting and reviewing compliance reporting, trainings and certification/licensure compliance. Prepares performance review packets for managers. Responsible for compiling spreadsheets for annual increases, long service payments, retirement match, etc. Responsible for I9 E-Verify, filing, archiving process. Supports employees with requests for leave of absence, unemployment forms. This position reports to the Human Resource Director.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Reviews all new job posting requests for accuracy.
- Supports managers with scheduling interviews as needed.
- Prepares offer letters and various communications relating to applicant activity.
- Assigns and audits all screening, onboarding, and OSHA requirements for newly hired employees.
- Assists empinfo verification services with current and previous employment verifications as needed.
- Supports staff with leave requests.
- Supports staff with benefit enrollment(s).
- Prepares compensation related data for approval.
- Data enters approved compensation data.
- Validates and monitors training assignments for new hire and for annual training.
- Tracks I-9 form retention and filing requirements.
- Assembles employee evaluations for Managers.
- Tracks contractor compliance monthly for license, certification, and training.
- Assists staff with employee self-service functions as needed.
- Perform various HR audits with HR Director as needed.
EDUCATION AND SKILLS:
- AA Degree preferred, High School Diploma required.
- Minimum 5-7 years Human Resource experience.
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience working with HRIS/Payroll platforms.
- Knowledge of benefits and payroll processes is preferred.
- Strong communication skills are a must.
- Strong customer service skills are a must.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks each day.
- Working knowledge and experience of office equipment, computer software, and excel spreadsheets is required.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and follow oral/written instructions in English.
