Term: Tenure-Track if either of the following is earned at the time of hire: 1) Terminal degree; or 2) a combination of a Master’s Degree in a required content area and a Certified Public Accountant License.  If strictly a Master’s degree has been earned at the time of hire, then term is one-year with eligibility for annual renewal until either a Certified Public Accountant license or another Terminal degree is earned. 
Proposed Start Date: August 2025
Pay: $66,750 if strictly a Master’s Degree in a required content area has been earned at time of hire.  $72,000 if both a Master’s Degree in the required content area and a license as a Certified Public Accountant have both been earned at time of hire. (Pay range may vary based on geographic location)

 Description:
Columbia College Business Administration Department in the Robert W. Plaster School of Business invites applications for full-time faculty at the Main Campus located in Columbia, Missouri, for the Fall 2025 academic year. Be a part of a dedicated, dynamic, and well-respected faculty that supports innovation, creativity, and a strong dedication to academic excellence.
 
Teaching, program coordination, professional development, and service are all required aspects of the position. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting.  Customarily an Instructor or Assistant Professor teaches 24 academic hours per academic year with 12 academic hours in the Fall and Spring semesters.  Departmental service responsibilities include, but are not limited to, curriculum development and oversight of relevant course offerings in all Columbia College locations, participation in department meetings, faculty association, committees, student advising, and other service activities such as academic assessment and curriculum development, co-curricular activities, and College events (may require occasional afternoon, evening, and/or weekend commitments). Columbia College has nationwide locations and a strong online program, the successful candidate should be able to assist the department with curricular needs, development, and oversight in all teaching venues. Compliance with College policies and directions including but not limited to keeping records, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours, and evaluating student performance, etc. is required. Strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and demonstrated potential to contribute positively to a College community are expected. This position will support several programs including B.S. Accounting, Master of Business Administration with the Accounting Concentration, and the M.S. in Accountancy. The Robert W.  Qualifications:
A Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Accounting is required while a Master of Accountancy is preferred.  Preference will be given to candidates who have earned either of the aforementioned Master’s degrees and a Certified Public Accountant license.  Current industry experience in an associated field and/or college teaching experience are required. The ideal candidate will also have the following: 
  1. Motivation to develop authentic relationships with students;
  2. Desire to work with the Dean and other faculty on executing a strategic plan for the Robert W. Plaster School of Business;
  3. Comfort with adapting to a changing higher education landscape;
  4. Experience providing effective student-centered teaching and classroom management strategies which enhance the success of diverse learners;
  5. Experience implementing with innovative teaching approaches to teaching and curriculum development in both traditional classrooms and distance education; and
  6. Experience with curriculum development.
