Job Summary:
The Programmer Analyst position is responsible for developing, integrating, and leveraging technology solutions to optimize student and employee experiences, improve processes and to enable and expand organizational capabilities.  It involves systems analysis and design, programming and development, application administration, maintenance and support, and enterprise data management functions.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Design: Collaborate with team members and other college stakeholders to design solutions that align with organizational strategies, while taking into consideration user experiences, data strategy, solution sustainability, cost/benefit, and other drivers.
  • Develop and Integrate: Turn designs into reality by implementing and adapting technology-oriented processes and solutions through custom programming, development, and data integration activities. 
  • Support and Maintain: Support users by helping to monitor, troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered, and by seeking opportunities to continuously improve our technology solutions. 
  • Growth and Learning: Continuous learning and development of skills is foundational to what we do as a college. Through personal initiative and various training opportunities, learn, explore and experiment to support and expand your own capabilities and to support the growth of those around you.
Required Core Competencies and Professional Experience:
  • Ability to fluently read, write, and understand the English language.
  • Proficiency with the following, but not limited to: active listening; speaking; writing; critical thinking; judgment and decision making; monitoring; reading comprehension; time management; coordination; and management of personnel resources.
  • Proficiency in using web-based technologies, including database systems.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with or without direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or relevant/comparable experience
  • Experience with one or more programming languages, like SQL, PowerShell, C# with MVC, or similar – in a Microsoft Windows and SQL Server environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience administering, developing on, or maintaining ERP/SIS, Document Imaging and Workflow, Data Warehouse and/or Content Management platforms; notably Ellucian Colleague, Hyland OnBase, Snowflake, or similar solutions.
  • Experience developing and leveraging APIs.
  • Experience with Software Development and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) approaches.
Other Requirements: Ability to satisfy, within the parameters set by the College and consistent with applicable federal, state and local laws, a criminal background check as a condition of employment.
 
Special Requirements: Occasional evening, weekend and on-call work is required to support organizational initiatives, system maintenance and to remediate service disruptions.
