POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for clerical and customer service work in the Fleet Services office. Applicant will be responsible for initiating work orders, filing, reception and other clerical work as required by Operations Manager.
Guidelines include county ordinances, department policies and procedures and verbal instructions. Guidelines are clear and specific but may require some interpretation in specific instances.
Contacts are typically with department members as well as equipment and vehicle operators.
This work is performed in an office and typically performed sitting at a desk with intermittent standing, stooping, crouching or bending.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having a similar position for one to two years. Possession of a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation is required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs a variety of clerical duties such as opening work orders, answering telephones, typing and data entry as it pertains to work orders
- Greets customers and acts as a liaison between Fleet staff and end users/operators Scans invoices and outside repair information into computer
- Contacts customer when repairs are complete.
- Files completed work orders by department
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of bookkeeping and math.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Skilled in working quickly and accurately to prioritize work in meeting deadlines.
- Skilled in operation of the office machines and equipment.
DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent. Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook is desirable. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having a similar position for one to two years.
A combination of educations and/or more experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.
Salary : $19
