Job Summary
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is an important source of funding for building affordable homes and completing critical home repairs for low income residents of Columbia County. The ReStore is also integral to the wellbeing of St. Helens and the surrounding community diverting approximately 230 tons of material from the landfill annually, recycling metal, providing job training and community service opportunities. Volunteers are key to our success and important members of our Habitat family. Maintaining a welcoming and caring work environment is a priority.
Duties
- - Drive the Restore box truck to pick up ReStore donations and deliver purchases with an approved volunteer assistant.
- - Schedule pick-ups and deliveries that align with customer schedule and volunteer assistant availability. Collaboration with other staff members will be necessary to fulfill pick-up scheduling responsibilities.
- - Confirm appointments using excellent verbal communication and phone skills.
- - Learn what we accept and be able to decline donations as needed in a pleasant and tactful manner.
- - Unload the truck and sort donations.
- - Help maintain organization and cleanliness of truck/store/donation area.
- - Price donations and work in the donation area as needed.
- - Exhibit enthusiasm for the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity
- - Represent and promote Habitat for Humanity in a professional manner including attire, speech, demeanor, courtesy, relationships, etc.
- - Problem solve customer service issues in collaboration with ReStore staff.
- - Support volunteer retention by treating all volunteers with respect and dignity and providing equal opportunity to equally capable volunteers.
- - Successfully work independently and with other staff and volunteers to foster a positive work environment.
- - Document donation information, schedules, etc. with legible handwriting.
- - Follow a repair and maintenance schedule to keep the ReStore truck in good working order, recognizing issues and doing minor servicing.
- - Monitor fuel and fill with assistance of managers.
- - Provide support for special events, community cleanup day and parades.
- - Take waste to the transfer station as needed.
- - Other duties as assigned
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 per week
