Summary:
The Director of Legal Operations will oversee and optimize the outbound litigation and post-judgment recovery processes. This role will be responsible for managing multi-state litigation strategies, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and driving process efficiency through automation and technology. The ideal candidate will have experience handling legal collections, managing external legal counsel, and leading teams focused on asset recovery and judgment enforcement. This position will play a key role in expanding the legal program into additional states while maintaining operational excellence and maximizing recovery efforts.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities include leading and optimizing litigation workflows for pre-legal, open legal, and post-judgment collections, managing case tracking and reporting systems, and implementing automation solutions to streamline legal operations.
- This role will oversee multi-state legal strategies in active and expansion markets, develop best practices for judgment enforcement, and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- The Director will build and maintain relationships with attorneys, process servers, and court officials, while monitoring performance metrics to improve legal recovery rates.
Requirements:
- The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in legal operations, litigation strategy, or collections law.
- They should have experience in multi-state litigation management, judgment enforcement, and legal process automation.
- A strong understanding of state and federal debt collection laws, including FDCPA, TCPA, CFPB, and FCRA, is required.
- The candidate must be skilled in case management systems, legal compliance frameworks, and data-driven decision-making.
- Leadership experience in managing internal legal teams and external law firms is essential, as is the ability to develop and execute legal strategies that improve recovery performance while maintaining compliance and efficiency.
