Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable IT Specialist to support and maintain our organization's IT systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, managing network infrastructure, ensuring cybersecurity measures, and assisting with IT projects. This role requires strong problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and effective communication skills.
Duties
- Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and network devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and IT security protocols.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot any disruptions.
- Ensure data backups and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect company data.
- Assist with IT infrastructure upgrades, system migrations, and software rollouts.
- Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers for IT solutions.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices.
- Track and manage the distribution of IT assets to assigned employees, including computers, laptops, monitors, towers, PC trees, and other related equipment.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT assets and ensure proper retrieval and reassignment when employees leave or change roles.
- Assisted in troubleshooting ERP (Epicor) system issues, managing user access, and resolving system-related inquiries.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or at least two years of experience in a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems (Epicor preferred) and experience in user support or troubleshooting.
- Experience with IT support, system administration, and network troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including TCP/IP, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Working Conditions:
- This position is primarily based in an office setting with regular use of computers and office equipment.
- May require occasional lifting, moving, or setting up IT equipment (up to 50 lbs).
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking within the office to provide technical support.
- Work may include extended periods of screen time and detailed troubleshooting.
- Ability to work flexible hours when necessary, including evenings or weekends, for system updates or urgent IT issues.
