Position Overview
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our production and fabrication operations by ensuring that equipment remains in optimal working condition. The ideal candidate will have experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery, mechanical systems, and/or vehicles.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Perform inspections, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing of machinery and vehicles.
- Repair or replace damaged and worn parts, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Operate and inspect vehicles, machines, and heavy equipment to identify defects or malfunctions.
- Conduct tests on repaired equipment to verify proper performance and functionality.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to troubleshoot issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, computerized testing equipment, and calibration devices to assess machinery health.
- Perform maintenance-related welding and machining tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate equipment status and maintenance needs to supervisors daily.
Required Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience using a variety of shop tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when coordinating with equipment operators.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
- Must be safety-conscious and adhere to company and regulatory safety guidelines.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including walking, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Minimum of three years of driving experience with a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial maintenance, equipment repair, or vehicle maintenance.
- Welding and machining experience.
- Additional technical training or certifications in maintenance or mechanical systems.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional education or training in industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Any combination of relevant experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the job effectively will be considered.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and crawling.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to industrial work environments, including potential noise, heat, and mechanical hazards.
Working Conditions
- Primarily in a production and fabrication environment.
- Some tasks may require working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
