What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gluing Department Trainer 2nd Shift position at Columbia Forest Products?
- Knowledgeable of Grades and all STW in department
- Be able to train, coach, and train LOTO
- Coaches out of standard items.
- Problems solves daily for opportunities.
- Uses quality gates properly. Responds to Andon when needed. Pulls Andon when needed.
- Ensures all team members in the area are trained.
- Perform standard work audits. If out of standard, then task on task list.
- Completing JI training as needed with crew members.
- Updates Standard work documents.
- Monitors breaks, startups/shutdowns, PM’s, cycle times and tasks on DMS
board that relates.
- Must be at or better on work cell run ratios and quality. If not, then task to
get back to standard.
- Informs TLs of opportunities and can assist in disciplinary action if
needed.
SAFETY:
- Make sure LOTO is up to date and posted.
- All LOTO procedures are followed.
- Reach cards filled out for upset conditions.
- Trainers are exposed to a lot of moving gears, belts, drives, etc. Hands or
other body parts cannot be placed near moving equipment unless the
machine is shut off, the power shut off at the power disconnect, the power
disconnect tagged, locked out, and padlocked by each person involved.
- PPE – appropriate footwear, hearing protection and eye protection.
- Ability to lift at minimum of 50 lbs.
QUALITY:
- Continuous improvement to help facility meet or exceed target reject
percentages.
- Knowledge of quality targets for area.
- Constantly striving to lower rejects.
- Provides feedback to previous processes through quality gates and and-on
pulls.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Pay Rate - $23.07 Per Hour
- High School Diploma or GED. 2 yr. associate degree preferred.
- Moderate computer skills needed. (Links, email, excel, word, etc.)
- Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work and make decisions
involving the use of considerable ingenuity.
- Ability with lightweight materials and occasional work with average weight
materials.
- Position must concentrate mental and visual attention while closely planning
and laying out complete work
