We are seeking a Trucking Dispatch/Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Columbia Forest Products in Bladenboro, NC.
Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for scheduling and securing inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials and finished product. They will work closely with dedicated truck line vendors to ensure efficient turns and meet the demands of internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule inbound and outbound shipments for cores, raw materials, and finished product.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with truck line vendors.
- Verify freight charges received by truck lines and process payments.
- Collaborate with on-site team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Organize workload to meet internal and external customer needs.
- Assign shipping instructions to orders and coordinate with pallet yard leaders.
- Maintain accurate Ship Logs and Freight Rates.
Qualifications
- A minimum of an Associate's degree or 3 years of experience in Logistics.
- Previous experience working with trucking logistics is preferred.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively with drivers, customers, vendors, and employees.
Work Environment
This role requires regular use of hands and fingers, standing, walking, sitting, and talking. The employee may occasionally need to climb or balance and regularly lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
