An Instructional Dean who brings innovation, vision, and data-informed, equity-minded, student-centered leadership to our Nursing and Health Occupations (NHO) training, certificate, degree programs—and high school college credit courses—including Nursing, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assisting, and Emergency Medical Services. The Dean of NHO also serves as Nurse Administrator, per Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing department leadership that promotes program growth by implementing effective and best-practice strategies to increase enrollment and maximize student learning, retention, and completion, such as those about delivery modalities, instructional practice, assessment, and equity and belonging.
  • Contributing to and leading the development and implementation of institutional initiatives that aim to improve student success and advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of the college, such as Guided Pathways;
  • Cultivating strong relationships with business and industry partners, school districts, community organizations, and workforce development agencies, to develop new programs and align learning outcomes with workforce needs and students’ end goals;
  • Supporting and encouraging the collection and analysis of data to inform decision-making, including course, program, and institutional learning outcomes data, student success, retention, and completion data, regional economic development data, student survey data of courses and faculty, and state and national comparator data
