POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Food & Beverage Supervisor Reports To: General Manager
Department: Food & Beverage Date: January 2025
Position Summary:
Responsible for assisting in the overall management and direction of the Food and Beverage operation.
Supervision Received:
Supervision is received from the General Manager.
Essential Functions:
- Knowledgeable, consistent and engaging service.
- Handle guest complaints in a timely manner.
- Supervision of staff in Restaurant & Lounge operations.
- Maintaining the security and proper storage of food & beverage products, inventory and equipment.
- Assist with ensuring security of money, credit and financial transactions.
- Clean and well-maintained facility.
- Maintaining standards which include uniforms, table ware, employment laws, policy and procedures, etc.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of staff.
- cross training and development of staff.
- performance evaluation and on-the-floor coaching of staff.
- appropriate progressive discipline procedures for staff.
- Assist in maximizing gross operating profit.
- Meet budgeted revenue goals and control expenses.
- Participate in monthly inventories.
- Assist with providing accounting accurate payroll information.
- Reports all potential safety hazards to the Food and Beverage Manager immediately.
- Ensures sanitation and safety programs meet regulatory OSHA standards and best practices.
- Complies with all policies and procedures set forth by A-1 Hospitality Employee Handbook.
- Develop, maintain and nurture all relationships between food production, food service employees and other departments. Resolve all disputes in a professional manner.
- Represents the restaurant in a positive and friendly manner at all times
- Conducts self in a professional manner at all times.
Secondary Functions:
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Position requires minimum of three years experience in high quality food and beverage operations and a high school diploma or equivalent GED. A college degree preferred. Other requirements include:
- Ability to plan, organize and direct the activities of a group of employees.
- Ability to develop an effective working relationship with managers.
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
- Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and liquor laws.
- Working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
- Ability to solve problems and deal courteously and tactfully with employees and the general public.
- Ability to work varied shifts.
- Bartending skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Possession of strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Ability to read and follow both verbal and written instruction.
