Position Description:
The Maintenance Supervisor primary responsibility is to ensure that building systems, equipment, and facilities in their charge operate at peak efficiency.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for keeping the mill process operating at or above normal capacity.
- Oversee the maintenance of all facility equipment as delegated by the Operations Manager.
- Report all equipment malfunctions and/or faults to Operations Manager.
- Plan ahead with the Operations Manager and use critical thinking to keep production moving.
- Responsible for performing and keeping up with PM’s in RCI to ensure facility is up to date on all maintenance records.
- Production operations such as: running cleaners, loading rail cars, loading trucks, etc.
- Work with Warehouse Operators and Operations Manager to keep facility maintained and functioning adhering to Human, Quality and Food Safety.
- Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years’ experience in the industry preferred.
- Experience in food processing plant is a plus.
- Understanding and familiarity with the operation of lab and test equipment used in the MSM plant.
- The desire and ability to cooperate with other company and plant departments.
- High level of organizational skills, including written and verbal communication and commitment to company goals
- Demonstrated commitment to operate the facility in a clean, safer manner and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- “Can Do” attitude to accomplish the roles’ responsibilities
- Be able to work extended hours in addition to evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary to keep the plant running.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed
- Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint)
- High level organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
- Multi-task in a fast-paced work environment with ability to have fun
Leadership Skills Required:
- Responsible for upholding the principles of the company
- Responsible for immediately reporting any maintenance issues to management for appropriate action.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to extreme heat, moving mechanical parts, wet and/or humid conditions, heights, electrical shock, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, all weather conditions, vibrations and loud noise. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud, but not excessive (ear protection is available, but not required by OSHA).
