Columbia Grain International (CGI) is an established leading full-service company specializing in Trading and Commercial Supply of grain and pulse commodities worldwide. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon and own/operate over 60 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MT, NE, and ND to support our domestic and export sales program.

This new venture provides CGI the foundation to expand into the CPG category.
Position Description
The Production Manager will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating operations for each of the production lines. Primary responsibilities include overseeing production scheduling, cost efficiency, continuous improvement, inventory, safety, and quality.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a leader and mentor/coach for your direct reports.
- Ensure all company safety and health standards are met, annual training is achieved, and employee accountability.
- Drive continuous improvement in all metrics: personal safety, quality, efficiencies, cost, waste, and DT.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of production planning and associate scheduling, including the management of timecard approvals and minimizing overtime.
- Ensure orders are produced and delivered on-time and proper raw materials are ordered and delivered when needed.
- Support all other functions with a team first approach.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
- Continuously looks for ways to be more efficient and better, while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the function of the position.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements necessary to perform the job
- Must be able to move freely throughout the manufacturing facility to include walking on elevated platforms, standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Ability to regularly lift and move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and move up to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Exposure to extreme climate temperatures, humidity, and noise.
- Must be able to work in high places and confined spaces.
- Occasionally required to taste and smell product.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment to include hard hat, safety glasses, protective footwear, gloves, coveralls, and other PPE as required.
