Job Title: Strategic Planning Analyst II

Reports To: VP of Business Development

Columbia Grain International, LLC. is a long time established full-service grain company in the grain and pulses business. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon and own/operate over 60 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MT, NE and ND to support our domestic and export sales program.

Position Description:
The primary responsibility of the Strategic Planning Analyst II will be interpreting and monitoring data to better understand issues that may affect profitability, grows and productivity. This position will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and cleansing information which will be used to create business reports for teams and individuals across the business. The Strategic Planning Analyst II will collaborate across departments to better understand business strategies and objectives, and will need to communicate recommendations and findings when necessary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data duties
- Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Acquiring data from primary and secondary data sources and maintaining databases
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Licensing duties
- Maintain all company business licenses including state business licenses, federal/state warehouse licenses, FDA, FSVP, FSMA, and grain buying, in addition to bonding/letter of credit requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in complimentary field
- 2 years of experience in strategic planning, business analysis, project management, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL)
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and business intelligence platforms.
- Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and assignments with deadlines.
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and business case development skills.
- Strong conceptual and problem-solving skills to evaluate problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to uphold and maintain discretion and care regarding confidential and sensitive personnel and company information.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the function of the position.
