Columbia Grain International, LLC. is a long time established full-service grain company in the grain and pulses business. We are headquartered in Portland, Oregon and own/operate over 60 elevators and offices throughout WA, ID, MT, NE and ND to support our domestic and export sales program.

Position Description:
A junior systems administrator plays a crucial role in supporting and maintaining an organization’s IT infrastructure.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the installation and configuration of operating systems, software, and hardware components.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and backups.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues.
- Assist in the resolution of helpdesk tickets and service requests.
- Train users on basic system operations and best practices.
- Assist in the configuration and maintenance of network equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and ensure a secure and efficient network environment.
- Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with senior administrators to develop and enhance security measures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Contribute to the development of IT policies and procedure.
- Work collaboratively with other IT team members and departments to address cross-functional issues.
- Assist in the planning and implementation of IT projects.
Qualifications
Skills, Knowledge, Education and Experience
- Relevant and related field work experience.
- Superb customer service skills and professionalism as a way of life mentality.
- Two (2 ) years of related experience as a Systems Administrator
- Understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.).
- Knowledge of network protocols and services.
- Familiarity with system administration tools and practices.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desired Skills:
- Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., CompTIA A , Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, VMware, Citrix etc.).
- Experience with virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms.
- Familiarity with fundamental Active Directory tasks.
