Middle School Science Teacher

The Middle School Science Teacher will teach grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will be passionate about middle school science education and invested in project-based learning while maintaining an exciting and academically rigorous environment. We expect the new hire to honor student thinking and curiosity as they discover the many patterns that unveil the big ideas of middle school science. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement unit plans that reflect sequential learning with differentiated activities based on students’ knowledge and skills.
• Use department guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintain records, and write report cards accordingly.
• Provide meaningful, individualized feedback and support to students. 
• Collaborate positively and respectfully with members of the Middle School, the science department, other colleagues, school administrators, students, and families.
• Responsible for coverage of duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s degree is preferred 
• Minimum of three years full-time teaching experience
• Valid State Certification is helpful but not required, preferably in middle or secondary science 
• Proven track record of high achievement in the classroom
• Ability to communicate effectively and establish rapport with families and students both in writing and orally

WORK HOURS:

• 7:45 am - 3:15 pm Mon-Fri
• Bi-weekly faculty meetings until 4:30 pm
• Start Date:  This position is for the 25-26 School Year with the new hire orientation beginning in late August.

COMPENSATION:

The salary range for this position is $71,000.000 -$118,500.00 based on completed degree programs and years of lead teaching experience. We offer highly competitive salaries, exceptional benefit package, and a warm and supportive culture.
