The Material Handler receives, stocks, and issues materials to various shops and field-based locations as required by Supervisor or other Supply Chain leadership. Ensures inventory accuracy and availability by exercising diligence when handling all inventory items.
Location: Aurora, OR
Pay Range: $16.00/hour - $19.00/hour
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Delivers materials to Shops and transfers materials between Shops via a scheduled delivery system
- Utilizes material moving equipment (pallet jack, hand truck, fork lift, or vehicle) or transfers by hand
- Receives inventory according to processes outlined the appropriate company manuals
- Uses Columbia’s ERP system to perform task function
- Stocks materials by using various means such as hand truck, pallet jack, and fork lift
- Properly prepares and packages items to be stocked to ensure accuracy and availability
- Stocks the materials in the correct locations as indicated in company’s ERP system ensuring availability
- Processes the necessary documents to receive inventory accurately into stock
- Follows the processes for picking as outlined in appropriate company manual
- Pulls materials by using the various electronic documents generated by company’s ERP syste
- Pulls materials by using various means such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and forklift
- Assists internal customers with matters within the scope of the Inventory Department
- Delivers materials as requested by using various means including company vehicles and equipment
- Delivers freight to venders, freight forwarders, and internal customers’ jobsites
- Maintains inventory accuracy and availability
- Use company’s ERP system to maintain inventory accuracy
- Maintains a clean and professional department that promotes continuous improvement
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years’ cycle count experience or equivalent, desired but not required
- 1-2 years’ warehouse experience, receiving, picking, and pulling orders, desired but not required
- Maintains a valid Driver’s license
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to work overtime as needed including providing after-hours support
- Solid organizational skills with attention to detail
- Solid written and verbal communication skills to be able to present ideas, concepts, and proposals to a wide range and level of internal and external audiences
- Solid interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a good working relationship with team members, departments, warehouses, and other stakeholders.
- Basic Microsoft Office applications skills,
- Experience with an ERP preferred
- Experience driving a forklift preferred, or the ability to be trained and certified within 3 months
