Description

For over 60 years, Columbia Helicopters have been a trusted provider of heavy-lift helicopter services. We create new aircraft, fly heavy-lift helicopters around the world, and provide maintenance support to ensure you are mission-ready for critical operations. If you are passionate about aviation, join our Columbia family!

The Production Supply Planner uses various tools and systems, establishes Supply Plans to meet the material and sub-assembly demands of our fleet, both internally to the various shops as well as Field Operations warehouses. Proactively identifies work required, initiates and coordinates the work flow within the CHI Shops to ensure appropriate Service and Safety Stock levels are achieved and maintained, engaging with support organizations (Engineering, Procurement, Quality) as needed to maintain proper pace of output from shops. In short, the Supply Planner plans, compiles, calculates, reviews, confers, and synchronizes Supply and Demand and drives the various shops and Support departments to ensure adequate supply exists.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities -

  • Uses various tools and systems (ERP and others) to assess demand, usability and location of available inventory, open Purchase orders and other possible sources of supply (ex: our rotable pools) to establish Supply Plans to meet the current and expected demand for parts or subassemblies. These Supply Plans could be in the form or Shop Work Orders to recertificate current Unserviceable inventory, direction or triggers to Purchasing for the procurement of new parts, engagement with Engineering and Quality for the assessment of alternate parts or materials or any other path to meet the demands and desired inventory levels (safety stocks) for the parts and assemblies under his/her responsibility. Typically, a Production/Supply Planner is able to devise, implement and follow through on nominally simple strategies and programs with minimum guidance and supervision, and will rely on guidance from more senior Production/Supply Planners to execute on matters of higher scope and complexity.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, aircraft/subcomponent design and maintenance documents, Service Bulletins and other related documents to ensure parts can be refurbished or type design and compliant with airworthiness requirements and triggers Supply Plans for parts or assemblies required to meet aircraft re-purposing projects, engineering change orders and simple new product introductions.
  • Demonstrate exceptional ownership and accountability for his/her parts and products, zealously addressing both technical as well as business obstacles to achieve his/her fleet support and business objectives, effectively and promptly escalating concerns, both technical as well as business roadblocks to more senior Supply Chain and other departments and resources for guidance and direction.
  • Assesses financial and supply/inventory impact of Engineering Change orders or other product changes that may result in supply/demand imbalances and/or financial impact and drives to establish ‘best fit’ or ‘most optimal plans’ that result in the optimum implementation or deployment schedules.
  • May be tasked to monitor, manage, and inventory goal-setting of Field VAN inventory levels and triggering Supply Replenishment activities thereto, liasing with Field Operations personnel as needed to ensure adequate support and service levels are achieved to sustain our global fleet.
  • Proactively identifies work required, initiates and coordinates the work flow within the production department to ensure appropriate Service and Safety Stock levels are achieved and maintained, engaging with support organizations (Engineering, Purchasing, Quality) as needed to maintain proper pace of output from Operations.
  • New Product/Program support: a Production/Supply Planner will occasionally be assigned to nominally simple New Product Introduction and/or new capability projects for the fleet, usually with some guidance and mentoring from more senior Production/Supply Planners.
  • Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications And Experience -

  • 2 years Production management, Production Control and/or Supply Planning experience working in structured, complex and highly regulated Manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years experience in executing a Production Control/Supply Planner function in an organization enabled by a Class A ERP system, including execution of nominally complex New Products and/or new capability deployment programs.
  • 1 years experience in the Aviation Maintenance and Operations field, demonstrated working knowledge of specialized aviation protocols/regulations such as FAA Part 21, 43 and 145, Aircraft Manuals and others as may apply.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent training and/or experience.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / AS9100 / AS9110 standards.
  • APICS certifications (CSCP, CPIM) and/or other advanced Supply Chain or Lean Manufacturing certifications highly desirable.
  • Experience working with an internal document control system such as JKT is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Proven history of quickly learning/adaptation to new/unfamiliar ERP applications as evidenced by previous employment history in ERP-enabled enterprises.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able present ideas, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels both internal and external to the company.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all team members, stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
