Title: Behavior Support Specialist
Term of Employment: 10 months (FT-40 hours per week)
Salary: District Salary Scale (Based on experience) plus local supplement
Reports to: Director of Student Services.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
? Must successfully pass a criminal background check
? 4 Year College degree
? Experience with Video Conferencing software (tele-communications)
*Preferable experience in Social Work, Counseling, Special Education or Crisis Intervention

JOB DESCRIPTION:
? Meet with students virtually via Video Conferencing
? Monitors students in assigned locations
? Provide coordination and oversight for mental health services at assigned school.
? Work in/with a team of teachers to provide academic, social and emotional support
? Implement academic support plan devised by Instructional Specialist
? Coordinate with school teams to promote access to mental health care.
? Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioral plans, programs,
assessments, and analysis of data that will promote positive classroom experiences for all students.
? Provide direct services to teachers through observations and coaching sessions for the development of
adaptive skills and replacement of undesirable student behaviors.
? Participate in school team meetings to develop relationships and awareness around trauma, emotional,
social and behavioral needs.
? Assist in the coordination of a school-wide system of intervention, including implementation of a
comprehensive mental health plan.
? Provide consultation to school staff and MTSS Team on identifying trends of behaviors, individual
behavior strategies, classroom management techniques, and school-wide behavior supports
? Develop and modify Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans as necessary.
? Serve on the District-Level Behavioral Health Resource Team, School-Level Threat Management
Team and/or other designed teams as assigned
? Collaborate and communicate effectively with students, family members, school personnel,
community resources, and natural supports.
Create and maintain such coordination through the standardization of a comprehensive mental health
delivery of services by:
1. Enhancing the school climate and broadly by promoting mental health wellness, early
identification of needs.
2. Assisting in the identification and delivery of a range of evidence based interventions
3. Developing program evaluation and data collection for efficacy and effectiveness of services
4. Providing consultation, mental health education and prevention information to staff, students,
families and school community.
5. Conducting ongoing school need and readiness assessments
6. Assisting and/or Conducting Crisis Intervention assessments •
7. Providing knowledgeable of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior
Therapy (DBT), Individual, Group, Family modalities and Mindfulness. Service Facilitation -
Provide mental health related support services to school teams and leadership team to include:
8. Assessing in conjunction with the Administrative, school teams, co-located mental health, the
training needs of school teachers/staff
9. Designing coordinating and delivering professional development related to needs noted
among school staff
10. Coordinating and delivering training related to mental health information to
Families/Caregiver/ Coaches/other designated school staff.
Salary : $40,700 - $59,400
