Job Description:
To provide administrative support to the Principal and the Columbia High School Staff. Performs executive secretarial functions and administrative duties to contribute to the efficient and positive operation of the school. Strong, appropriate judgment, a positive/helpful demeanor plus excellent communication skills have a major impact on the daily operation of the office of the school. Overall preparation, maintenance, and use of confidential and public information is an integral part of the Office Manager position.
The successful candidate shall:
- Be the ultimate team player…will work closely with Principal and other staff to support the needs of our students.
- Knowledge about school district programs and policies preferred.
- Work in partnership with the Principal in supporting students in a variety of ways, including; health, behavior, emotional, physical and willing to correspond with parents (oral/written) about the needs of their child.
- Possess a positive attitude that helps create a great working environment. Positive attitude under stressful circumstances is vital to the supportive environment that the high school office must always maintain.
- Respond to complex and varied inquiries, concerns and complaints regarding school matters, student issues, or refer to appropriate individuals.
- Prepare correspondence, reports and statistical data for the Principal and other staff as requested.
- Compose letters and memoranda from verbal and written directions actively using a wide range of computer applications.
- Maintain calendars and arrange appointments, meetings, prepare travel arrangements for staff.
- Support and arrange substitutes for both Certificated and Classified staff members.
- Receive telephone calls and address visitors for staff and answer substantive questions relevant to all educational programs.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist the Principal in providing administrative support to the staff.
- Interact with students, parents, community members and teachers in a professional, positive and approachable manner.
- Respond to challenges and issues as a problem solver committed to finding a positive outcome.
- Responsible for enrollment and registration of students.
- Billing and Deposits
- Data entry in Skyward, Education Database(s), and other programs as required by the school district or state.
- Federal and state reporting.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate basic math, reading and writing skills.
- Bilingual speaker with (English/Spanish) Preferred
Terms of Employment: 210 days. Benefits and wages to be determined per the PSE contract.
Salary: Based on the PSE contract for the position of Office Manager.
