The MarQueen Hotel is seeking a highly motivated and versatile F&B Kitchen Cook/Event Supervisor to join our team. This role is a unique blend of culinary cook experience who will lead the restaurant and it’s event coordination, requiring a “jack of all trades” mentality. You will be responsible for preparing delicious light snacks and bar eats for Tin Lizzie Lounge service, as well as coordinating and executing a variety of small private events. The role works in partnership with the Tin Lizzie Lounge bartenders. You will be the point of contact for clients, ensuring their F&B needs are met and their events are a success. We are looking for a personable, flexible, and results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

- Culinary Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of light snacks, bar eats, and appetizer style food for the Tin Lizzie Lounge, ensuring high quality and presentation according to established recipes.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment on every shift, adhering to all Food Safety/Health Dept. regulations and SOPs for daily dishwashing.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of food supplies for shared products of kitchen and Tin Lizzie Lounge.
- Collaborates with creating seasonal menus and/or weekly specials for the Tin Lizzie Lounge.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist with coordinating event logistics, including planning, ordering, setup, service, and cleanup.
- Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements and preferences, providing personalized recommendations.
- Create and execute event menus, ensuring they align with client expectations and dietary needs.
- Manage event timelines and ensure smooth execution of all event activities.
- Coordinate with other hotel staff to ensure seamless event operations.
- Handle any event related problems or requests.
- Client Interaction:
- Act as the primary point of contact for event clients, providing exceptional customer service. Maintains access to general event email inbox.
- Conduct event consultations and site visits.
- Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Obtain feedback from clients and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- General Duties:
- Always maintain a positive and professional demeanor.
- Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Assist in other hotel operations as needed; which could include preparation of retail F&B items to sell in Front Desk retail space.
- 2 years lead or supervisory experience and/or training in comparable food service operation
- The ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required to read, analyze, and interpret regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Computer knowledge including Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS system(s)
- Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations
- Necessary State Food Handler’s License and Liquor Serving Permit
