GUEST PROGRAMS/TOUR GUIDE

As the Guest Programs at the Iconic Smith Tower, you're not just orchestrating experiences; you're crafting unforgettable memories for our visitors and conducting paid talking tours. Picture yourself as the conductor of joy, leading a symphony of excitement through the heart of Downtown Seattle! Your role isn't just about managing operations; it's about infusing every moment with a spark of magic. You'll inspire and uplift our dedicated guest services team, ensuring that each interaction reflects the essence of our Tower's legacy. Together, we'll elevate hospitality to an art form, turning every visit into a journey of discovery and delight!

What you’ll do:

The Brass Tacks

  • Tour Guide for Talking Tours: Professionally leads groups to various locations of the building providing information and context about each area visited through effective storytelling. Deliver a narrative that appeals to a broad audience and answer all questions and comments.
  • Crafting Unforgettable Experiences: Design and work with management on innovative guest programs and activities that captivate visitors and leave a lasting impression.
  • Team Inspiration and Motivation: Serve as the driving force behind the guest experience team, fostering a culture of excellence, enthusiasm, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Guest Engagement and Satisfaction: Proactively engage with guests to anticipate their needs, address concerns, and exceed expectations, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience from arrival to departure.
  • Guest Communications: Assists in answering the guest services line, returning guest messages, and advising management of any guest concerns that need assistance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly evaluate guest feedback, operational processes, and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, driving continuous enhancement of our guest programs including talking tours and museum.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Serve as a passionate ambassador for the Iconic Smith Tower, promoting its unique history, architecture, and offerings to visitors and stakeholders alike, both locally and globally.
  • Required Duties: Able to work as a Guest Experience Attendant at any point during business operations including daily responsibilities of ticket and retail sales, guest services, elevator operations, cleaning, organizing, dusting, and ensuring all guest areas are presentable during business operations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

In this role, you'll be the maestro of hospitality, orchestrating a symphony of service that elevates the Iconic Smith Tower experience to new heights! May require additional job functions as needed based on the business needs of the property and team as requested by Guest Experience Manager and Director of Marketing.

The Nitty Gritty

  • 3 years’ experience in an operations or tour guide or hospitality role at an attraction, hotel/resort, or similar environment.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate Guest Experience Attendants including critical thinking skills
  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
  • Strong communication skills, including correspondence via phone, messages, and email. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members, clients, guests, or the public.
  • Strong computer skills: Full knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel, and Word. Able to use Point of Sale Electronic Software. Proficient in Smith Tower’s Ticketing System FareHarbor.
